SWEET HOLY SPIRIT: BY HEATHER BERRY MABE I TRULY LOVE HER VOICE Sweet Holy Spirit
O' Holy Spirit you flew down from above You caught this heart of mine,
with your great chains of love You drew me home to Jesus,my one and only one
The Savior that came down from heaven Gods only son You wooed me to the cross where Jesus died for me You called my name so gentley, as you drew me close to thee
O' sweet Holy Spirit the one my soul loves Come and seal this heart of mine, with your great love
O' Sweet Holy Spirit you are my best friend You lead me on to heaven in this heart there is joy without end
O' precious Holy Spirit you are the one who comforts me I will never be lonely as you have made your home with me
When my life is over and time on earth for me will end You shall carry me on snow white wings to my home where there is peace, and joy without end
O' precious Holy Spirit my heart is your resting place You have covered me with honor and grace
I hear your voice in the thunder in the fire, and in the wind Precious Holy Spirit you have spoken to me with your soft voice within
Bringing peace to me without end When my life is tossed with the tempest wind I know because you love me I will never bend
(Luke 11:13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Christ The Giver of The Holy Spirit
(Matthew 3:11) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Through waiting upon God
(Luke 24:49) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Empowers for service
(Acts 1:8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Personal Cleansing
(Acts 2:1-4) And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Let us talk just for a, while about the Holy Spirit, and His work in our lives. Jesus said I must go back to My Father, so that the Holy Spirit, Comforter, Teacher, Leader into all truths can come to and make His abode in your hearts.
(John 16:5-14) But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How beit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you. King James (Authorized) Version
When we receive Jesus into our lives, THE HOLY SPIRIT comes into our, hearts and lives to dwell. He begins to teach us His ways, He teaches us about Jesus. He teaches us the scriptures, and enlightens them to our mind, and understanding. He teaches us to pray and worship God. He fills us with the, joy of the Holy Spirit, and He causes us to bear, the fruit of the Spirit. in our lives as we go through trials, He encourages us to go on, no matter how many times we fall, Like a loving father that, teaches his children to walk. He strengthens, us and equips, us for the ministry, God calls each of us to. He brings all His gifts along, when He comes to dwell in you, and when your ready He gives them to you, to use to help build His Kingdom. He teaches us to lead others to Jesus. The Holy Spirit, The Teacher, He teaches us the word of God. He teaches us His voice, so that we know His voice. He instructs His children, not to follow any other voice. He is our Comforter, He surrounds us, with His blanket of love.
When we weep He weeps with us, when we are laughing, and joyous He is happy also. Some new Christians think they do not have, the Holy Spirit in them if they do not, speak in tongues, jump over pews or, dance in the Holy Spirit as some may or do. There are times when people are caught up in, the Spirit of God that they dance, laugh, speak in tongues, prophecy. These are wondrous joyous times, not to be denied Gods children. Yet I am speaking here to new Christians, just starting their walk with God. Perhaps you are seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and you are not sure what to expect? The Holy Spirit is a gentlemen, you never have, to be afraid He will make you, do any thing to embarrass you. The Holy Spirit is concerned about, everything that concerns you.
The Holy Spirit is always the same He never changes; yet He lives in houses of clay, with different emotions and personalities. When we see the Holy Spirit moving on, other Christians they all have different ways, of expressing this inexplicable joy, of the presence of almighty God in there being. Many times when others forget us, when others abandoned us, when others hurt us the Holy Spirit never ever leave us. When my husband left me for another woman, after he beat me many times during seventeen years, of marriage and having three children. It was the Holy Spirit who held me, in His arms of love and covered me with His comforts and spoke tenderly to me, when I laid upon my bed weeping wondering, where will I go from here Lord? The Holy Spirit is a gracious gentleman, He won’t go where He is not wanted, but he will reach out to you through, the fires of hell to comfort and console you, if you only ask Him to. He has held my hand through many funerals, He never left me once when my loved ones died, or when my friends forsook me by the way. When the wounding came through the Churches, and I thought my life was gone forever, and I just wanted to fly a way. He was my comforter, my friend, the one who loved me even when I did not deserve it. He never forgot my birthday, when others did He had someone I hardly knew, to reach out to me with His Love and, I never failed to recognize it was my Lord.
I gave Him praise and Glory, when He filled my cupboards with groceries When money desperately needed showed up just in time! I Praise Him Always in all things! When I broke my tail bone in a falling accident, the Holy Spirit covered me with His presence and love. When I was shopping at the mall, I was so despondent, I saws a little teardrop diamond necklace, on sale for half off. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, I want you to have that my daughter, it is a birthday present to you from me. Are You sure you want me to have this lord? His answer was yes, because he loved me, and felt my pain and betrayal. The Holy Spirit knew I would have never, spent money for any thing like that with, out His approval. He cares about even the little things in our life. You may say does the Holy Spirit really care, about those little things? Yes He truly does care about you sisters and brothers. He feels your pain in your heart, and in your body, He longs to show you His love and concern for you. He longs to adorn you with His beauty, and give you gifts both spiritual and natural. (A place of personal ministry) please do not turn Him away? I have felt since I started writing this article, that there is someone who is longing, for the ministry, of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit begins to move in your life, you clinch up because you do not want to act, like someone else you may have seen expressing, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will never cause us, to do anything to embarrass us. That is the devil trying to talk you out, of the blessings of God.
The reason I am saying this is because, I have experienced these feelings. It is the Great Holy Spirit mission to help, comfort ,teach and bless you, and He always leads you to Jesus. He longs to bless you with joy, and lavish you with gifts, many gifts. He longs for fellowship with you, He leads you on the pathway of life, and directs you to the living waters, He speaks to you often about Jesus.
He lifts you up when you fall down, He encourages you to go on. He tells you that He has faith you, will make it down road of life. Yet if we should shun Him He is easily grieved. We do not have to measure our lives, and spirituality by others. No beloved’s the Holy Spirit, wants to paint a picture of Jesus, in you for the whole world to see. Let Him love and teach you, let Him guide you into all truths. Let Him comfort you when your sad, let Him be your friend when you are lonely. Let Him heal you when you are ill. Let Him teach you the word of God in all truth. Let Him lavish you with gifts, let Him adorn you with the beauty of Christ Let Him be the love of your life.
He is someone you can tell your, failures and successes too. Know this beloved He will never run, to someone else and gossip about you. Another misgiving that runs rampant, through the congregations. He is pure He is noble, a trusted helper in your life. If you are just beginning your journey, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit? Go to your concordance in the back of your Bible, and write out every scripture about the Holy Spirit, in Long hand and as you do you will see a picture emerge of the most beautiful Holy Spirit. The Holy one you can trust with your life. Ruth Pletcher Gentle Heart Ministries
