(Psalm 91)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say [of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart . You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. savior there you shall find safety, rest, and peace For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
DWELLING UNDER THE SHADOW OF OUR ALMIGHTY GOD
The key to finding rest is dwelling with God, thank you God that through Jesus we can dwell in you and rest under your shadow. There is a place of shelter for the children of God, under the shadow of our almighty God. The fiery darts that satan throws at us can not harm us when we dwell under the shadow of the Almighty.
Our confession of God is that you are our refuge and fortress, and also confessing our trust in Him. Refuge is a hiding place where we are safe from the enemy. The meaning of fortress: a fortified place, a stronghold
A refuge is a place where we can find rest in God
I long to rest under your shadow God then I am safe from the enemy and the world. If we could but remain there always, how wonderful that would be, but we sometimes wander out from the shadow of the Almighty. It is then that we cry out to God and say "I trust in you my God" and then we find ourselves back under the shadow of our almighty God. Surely He will deliver us not maybe, but surely without any doubt he will deliver us from the fowler. A fowler is one seeks catch or kill wild fowls. In this case Satan is the fowler who comes rob, kill and destroy. Looking back up the page at Psalms 91. what is our promise from God surely He will save us. He will also deliver us from deadly pestilence.
Definition of Pestilence: An epidemic of disease something that is deadly and destructive, surely child of the most high God, surely He will deliver and save you when you abide in the shelter of God. When God sees trouble coming our way, He gently nudges us under His wings. There we will find refuge as God is our shield and rampart. We can always trust in the faithfulness of God, as He has promised to never leave us alone or unprotected.
When darkness comes we will not be afraid as God is our light, in him all the shadows of darkness are driven away. I have always been afraid of the darkness and the terror at night, but because the light shines in the darkness and the darkness can not put out the light, I feel so very safe in our God. How awesome is our Lord God that He catches the fiery darts of the day that are shot at us. We are truly blessed of our Father and His benefits, He has provided for His own children.
When we are sleeping we are more vulnerable, but Gods word tells us we need not fear the pestilence stalking in the darkness, as He is watching over us and gives his beloved sleep. Nor any plagues whenever they come into our dwelling place. Although a thousand fall by your side none of the plagues and pestilence can come near us. We will only be a witness to all the plagues, and punishment
Again we see in the word verses 9-10 that we must make the Most High God our dwelling and our refuge. Child of God there is safety and protection in being a child that dwells in God. Come and gather under the Shadow of Almighty God, as we dwell in the secret places. The secret places in God are always assessable to Gods Children run into the arms of our Savior Jesus.
I love this Scripture of how God gives His angels charge over us. I have a testimony of God giving His angels charge over me it was just one angel actually. I was walking fast up a side walk and I was very upset, my toe caught in a crack of the sidewalk and I lunged forward 3 times, I was afraid I would fall and break my hip. The angel of the Lord caught me three times and kept me from falling. My landlord was waiting for me to open my door so they could check my refrigerator which was not working. We were waiting for the repairman standing outside. I moved on to the sidewalk and there she was. I tell you little children of God, because I will not lie, I ran right into the angel who saved me from falling. The angel had the appearance of a woman in a jogging suit with sweatbands on her wrist. She had the most piercing blue eyes. I told her I was sorry for being in her way, I turned to my land lord who was standing by me and said I almost ran into that lady. He said to me what lady Ruth? Then I knew it was the angel that God sent to keep me from falling, and I did not question it again. Children of God how very blessed we are! Amen!
I don’t know why God showed me that? I was going through so many struggles I did not think I deserved being so blessed. I am so glad that Gods thoughts are not our thoughts. His thoughts are so much higher and better than our thoughts, and I am so glad that they are.
So far I have not trampled on any lion or cobra that is real, but I have trampled the lion in Spiritual battle, also the cobra. Beloved the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. How awesome that our God proclaims His Knowledge of our love for Him. He proclaims He will rescue us because He is God and we are His children.
The Lord spoke to my heart to read and reread the Psalms 91. My dear Sister’s hubby has cancer in one of his lungs in the lower lobe which they have removed also from his lymph nodes. He will soon be facing kemo and whatever else the Doctor decides.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I ask that You would draw us your children underneath your wings of protection. Help us to not be afraid because you are always on our side. If you are for us Lord who could ever be against us?
Dear Heavenly Shepherd Guide us by your healing waters. Help us to drink deep the waters of life. Give us steadfast confidence that underneath your wings and in your shadow we are safe. Heal all from cancer and give them a long life to proclaim your goodness.
Bless the wives and husbands going through cancer with the ones they love. Bless all of your children who faced with the aggression of cancer. Heal and comfort all the precious little children who are fighting cancer on a daily basis. May the day arrive speedily when there will be a cure for cancer. Help us to know that your angels are all around us protecting us always.
