The Broken Vessel

My life is an earthen vessel with a hidden perfume within
Only the Savior can break the seal to release,

the fragrance from within
He knew He must break me there are many souls to win
When the jar is broken it releases the fragrance within

It falls on those around us and fills the whole house

it makes our life a fragrant consuming sacrifice
It will give a beauty of sacrifice and cost
Without the broken vessels our lives are but dross

When the Holy Spirit begins to release the fragrance from within
We have been broken our lives purged of sin
Only a sweet sacrifice of the Savior dwells within

Our lives are broken vessels held gently in His hands

His touch brings Peace and delivers us from pain
He places us on the Potters Wheel to make us new again

We are a broken vessel of the purest, and sweetest perfume
It fills our hearts, each and every room

To be His broken vessel is what I long to be
To have His life be a sweet perfume in me

O' Lord I am a sacrifice upon your holy fires
O' Lord I am your precious child lifted from the mires

You speak Your Word so tenderly as you mold and shape me within
To be a broken vessel is a honor to me

to be His sweet perfume falls on all those whose lives He longs to win

Lord I yield my body a Holy Sacrifice to be a sweet fragrance, of every flower and spice
Upon my door I hear You knocking once, or maybe twice
You leave the handle of my door smelling of flower and spice.

My eyes are so sleepy, I barely see you there
I am so tired Lord I fail to rise and meet you and miss Your nearness there
Lord I long to walk with You in paths so pleasant and fair
Lord I long to smell Your sweet perfume in the very air

You call my name in the early morning light in the stillness of the night
When it is raining when the sun is shinning bright
You have delivered my life my soul from every terror and fright

Jesus You are my very hearts perfume
Fill my hearts each and every room with Your fragrant sacrificing perfume.
